A little snippet from the book...
This book is intended to minimize the amount of knowledge that you have to have about dogs and dog training by giving you the knowledge you’ll need to pick out a dog that naturally fits well with your household.
Something I didn’t predict when I began dog training was my clients’ lack of interest in dog training. This is not to be confused for a lack of love and affection for their dog. The vast majority of my clients love their dogs very much. They simply didn’t care for training. This lack of interest in dog training would hold clients back when it came to, well, dog training.
This is a dilemma that all mentors face. Doctors have patients that need to lose weight, but they have no interest in learning about diet and exercise, even though those patients really do want to lose weight. Mechanics have customers whose cars break down because of a simple oversight (getting oil changed regularly, for example). Those customers don’t want their car to break down again, but they have no interest in cars and no interest in learning how to avoid that same problem from occurring again. Many people want the end goal without having to understand and implement the knowledge that it takes to achieve that goal.
For this reason, I’ve decided to write this book. The purpose of it is simple. To increase the odds that the ‘average person’ will pick out a dog that will need little to no training in order to easily fit into the average person’s home and lifestyle.
